Hire an executive who has served in critical Chief Financial Officer roles for both public and private companies. Be sure this executive can roll up the proverbial sleeves and do their own work.

Oscar brings two decades of corporate finance and operations experience to his clients.  He served as CFO of two publicly traded companies and executed two IPOs.  Oscar currently serves as a fractional CFO to privately held companies looking to accelerate their growth or prepare to execute a strategic transaction.  In this role he has deployed three instances of NetSuite, while also adopting dashboards to revamp reporting and track key drivers.  Oscar has also served as COO of a $1 billion revenue division of Equifax overseeing large data onboarding and customer service teams.  In this capacity, he integrated various acquired companies and executed planned synergies while consolidating legacy operations.  Additionally, he deployed Salesforce and supervised migration of his organization’s data to the cloud to drive meaningful efficiencies for his team of over 1,600 FTEs.

Prior to that, Oscar was hired as CFO of Huttig Building Products (Nasdaq HBP until acquired) to restore investor communications and reporting as well as stabilize inefficient operations.  Before joining Huttig, Oscar oversaw the IPO and successful sale of Foresight Energy (NYSE FELP until acquired).  In his first three years as CFO, the company doubled its revenues organically to $1.1 billion while maintaining EBITDA margins of 40% given the alignment between operations.  Foresight Energy was backed by Riverstone Holdings.
